Hello!

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week. Once again work has gotten in the way of me blogging and writing. That and my best friend got married, so things have been crazy.  I have been doing a little writing, but nothing that I feel is ready to be shared. I am focusing on Blackheart and Vampira. Just ran into that dear friend Writer's Block, but all will be well.

Been a bit

Hello!!

Sorry about seeming I am no longer around. My job has been pretty demanding lately. I pretty much feel exhausted all the time. I love the people that I work with, but at the moment it seems like my life is called for at the moment. I know this is what adult life is like. I know it will not be this way forever. I am even more determined to become published and get my Master's so I can be a librarian. At the moment I have a job, but in the future I will have a career.
Anyway enough on my life.
I haven't really been reading anything, kind of hard to do when you work full time. I am however reading short stories. One is Penny Dreadful, this one is a collection of horror stories written by the masters. Like Bram Stoker and Edgar Allan Poe. The other is a collection of stories by H.P. Lovecraft. His works is rather impressive. I wished I discovered him sooner.
I have been working on Blackheart. I am still on chapter 4, I know this chapter will be re-written, but at the moment I am just going to finish it and move on. It is still possible to get it finished by the New Year, I need to be really dedicated. With work and school this will be a challenge, but being published is something I have always dreamed about. No one said it was easy.

What Has Been Going on In my Life at the moment

Hey Guys!

I know there has been a span between my last post. I haven't forgotten about the blog, I have just been busy. I was recently given the 1st Assistant Manager position at work  after the other one was fired. For a couple weeks all I was doing was sleeping and working. Yup that was it. There is someone that is now being trained to take the other position and things have been much smoother. I even was able to take a trip I had been planning this past week. I had the wonderful opportunity of seeing Danisnotonfire and AmazingPhil on tour. They are Youtubers who recently published a book. It is a really good read, you should check it out.
With all that has been going on I haven't had much time to write. I am feeling that I need to do a writing return. I would be able to shut off the world for a bit and write. My goal was to get a rough draft of Blackheart done before the year was out, well I have 6 months left. That may seem like a lot, but in a writing stance it is not. There is going to be a need for some planning in this. Until then I will write when I get a chance.
You guys have a wonderful Sunday and hopefully soon I will have some new material to post.

Hey!

I am still alive and well. My new job as been really taxing so I haven't had the time to write. I am working on a few things. I am writing a new chapter for Vampira and I have also decided to write the history and mythology of Ethereal the world the Blackheart Curse takes place in. Can't decide what to share next. How about you voice your thoughts. Should I post a chapter on Vampira or the history of Ethereal? Let me know please.
 I hope you all have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. If you don't celebrate that holiday then have a wonderful weekend.

Work

Due to my new job I will be a little busy to post anything new. I will try to post on Sunday, but we shall see. I'm an assistant manager for Jimmy Johns, so that should give you an idea on how busy I am. Until then, enjoy what I have written so far. Have a great day! 😸

What you want me to write about.

Lately I have been thinking about on what I should post on My Thoughts page. I am hoping you are enjoying them. I just haven't been able to come up with anything new. I am have decided to ask you what I should write about. Here are the things I will not write about:

1. Politics (we hear enough about this anyway)
2. Controversial Topics.

 That pretty much sums up on the no go topics.
 List of ideas that I am fine with:

• Books ( no brainer)
• The Arts Program (importance of them)
• Copywriting (for those who don't really understand it)
• Etc...(anything else that may be on your mind lately)

I would love to hear your thoughts that you are interested in. Writing these essays helps my writing grow. It also helps with my thought process and sometimes I end up brainstorming ideas.

What I Have learned as I write

I have never really thought about the work a writer puts in as they create their stories. I have learned no matter what you are writing, research is a great thing to do. Researching will help you learn more about the subject and can lead to ideas that can help you make that certain subject yours.
I know pretty much everything about vampires, but that doesn't stop me from doing continual research on them. Looking into the different versions of vampire throughout the world helps me decide what will make my version mine. What is it that will make my vampire stand out from the others?
 Example, The Vampira has vampires that are pirates, I got this idea from the book Vampirates, written by Justin Somper. If you haven't read it yet, I highly suggest that you do. I need to catch up on the series, but it is really good. I am not going to use the term vampirate because it was his idea and of course copyright keeps me from doing that anyway. They will be pirates on a ship, but vampires, Desi and I are making this version ours. We don't want people to think we are stealing Somper's idea. That just wouldn't be right. Hopefully I made sense.
This version will focus during the time of the Golden Age for pirates. The setting does take place a 100 years before, but the main story is during 1600's-1700's. What we are going to create will be revealed in time. If I told you everything, then you won't be surprised. ;D
I may spend hours pouring through books and surfing many webpages as I learn more about what I am writing. Writing in a time frame that actually happened is a little difficult. If you don't know the circumstances during that particular time, it is going to make it harder to be believable. Hence the importance of researching. Nowadays everything is in reach via technology, which is awesome. It makes it so much to easier to look up things, I prefer books majority of the time because unlike the internet there is a more likely chance of the info being correct. On Wikipedia anyone can change that info. With a book that is in print, makes it harder to do so.
Researching has benefited me in the long run. I learn more things, which I love doing, and can use that info to make my books much better.
I get so excited to use info that I found in my books. Knowing that my readers will learn something as they read makes all that hard work worth it.

I wish I had the Talent to Draw

As a writer I enjoy nothing more than creating characters. I love being able to shape a being that will never exist in our world. Creating is one of the things I enjoy the most about writing. The problem all comes down to whether or not the reader can picture the character. I love it when authors are able to include drawings of their characters in their books. This really helps with picturing the character as you read. I feel it helps with making the character come to life. 

I have tried to draw my characters myself, but it doesn't really work out. I just can not draw my characters as I imagine them, instead the drawing becomes something that teenagers will draw. (Not that all teenagers draw the same.)

Why am I stressing so much on this? I love to look for pictures online that can help with the inspiration of a character. I find one picture I like along with another and I will use the things I love about them to create my character in my mind. Yes I know we all have our talents and that we should be grateful for them. Once in awhile we all wish that we could do something that another can do. When in reality we should see that our talent is something that we can share. 

I will continue to create my character's as  I write. I  can hope that one day I will find someone that can draw the characters that will help readers visualize them even better in their minds.
