All About Me

...“You little tavern wench. Why can’t you just give in? You are always fighting me and I have grown tired of it.” He spat.
“Why?” She rasped. “Is it because I am not like all the other girls you have killed?” He looked at her in surprise. “Yes, I know your secret and I am sure the Sea Patrol would be happy to have you.” She struggled to get up, but her body gave out.
“Silence!” He kneeled down in front of her; his breathe smelt like rotting corpses. “Since you won’t join me I will give you a little gift.” He pushed her on her belly on the ground and ripped open her shirt. “So, it is true. You are the last Blackheart.” He chuckled. “This will only hurt for a moment.” She felt his stone like hands be placed on her back. She struggled to break free, but he held her down fast. “Per vox ut has been donatus , pario vomica quod suscipio quis has been prophesied.” He said. After he finished speaking a horrible burning sensation spread throughout her back.
Catherine cried out in pain, as she did a thought kept running through her mind. “This can’t be happening! I can’t be the one to receive the full force of the curse.”... (Exert from The Blackheart Heart Curse. ©)

   Hello There!

I would like to introduce myself to you fellow reader. My name is Durinda Hebdon. I am a creative writer, but I do write about real world things when I feel the need. Above, you just read one of my works I am currently working on. There are a few other projects I am working on, but The Blackheart Curse is one that I have been working on for years. My range of writing is in the world of fantasy. My favorite topic is vampires. I have always been intrigued with them since I was a little girl. I hope that one day I can write a novel that can equal the love of Dracula that many readers have.
When I was a little girl in grade school I had shared a poem with my Grandma Diana. She loved it and encouraged me to become a writer and I have been hooked ever since. I have saved all of the writing prompts I had written in grade school. During my Jr. High School and High School years I wasn't given that many chances to do a creative writing work, but there is a few. On my own time is when I worked on my writing.
Then came college. I finally had the opportunity to take a Creative Writing class and I loved it! I was able to learn when I needed to do to make my writing better. I even learned what is considered bad writing. I have dropped out of the that one college and will be attending the community college in my hometown. However, what I learned in that class has stuck with me. I am able to critique my work better and find ways to not be repetitive when I write.
This blog as it indicates will focus on my writing life. I will share what I have been working on and welcome any suggestions you may have to make it better. Once in a while I write essays on what things that I have been going through my that I wish express on. If you have any topics you wish me to cover you are welcome to let me know. As a writer, reading is a very important thing we should be doing daily. I will write little reports on books that I have read and I will even do reports on books that you would like to hear my thoughts on. There are a few genres I will not report on. Those genres are listed on the Book Reviews page.

I formally welcome you to my Writing Life.
